Spider Plus is proud to showcase the successful deployment of our URW 706-2 spider crane at a new mall construction site in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project involved lifting and installing multiple steel structural elements, each weighing between 600 kg and 800 kg, within an extremely confined space—an environment where traditional cranes simply couldn’t operate.
The URW 706-2 was the clear choice for the task. Its compact design and extended reach, thanks to the integrated fly jib, allowed it to move effortlessly through tight corridors and beneath low overhangs. Unlike larger cranes that would have required complex rigging or even structural modifications, the URW’s slim profile enabled quick and efficient access, saving valuable time and eliminating the need for costly temporary supports or scaffolding.
As installation progressed, the crane’s tilting function proved especially effective for placing steel beams under existing overhangs. With real-time adjustments to the boom angle, the operator could maneuver each element into the exact required location—streamlining the entire installation process and maintaining structural integrity.
Now, with the steel framework of this major Riyadh mall in place—aligned and structurally sound—we celebrate a job well executed. We look forward to supporting more projects across the region, continuing to deliver advanced lifting solutions wherever they’re needed.
