Spider Plus, recently overcame a series of challenges to complete an intricate glazing installation for a private villa in Jumeirah, Dubai. With a complex project ahead, they expertly selected the ideal equipment to ensure success: the URW-295 Mini Spider Crane and the MRTA6 Glass Vacuum Lifter.
The URW-295, one of the most popular cranes in the UNIC range, was chosen for its compact size and impressive 2.9-ton lifting capacity. After consulting with the client, Spider Plus confirmed this combination was perfect for handling the oversized glazing units, measuring 2.5m × 3m and weighing 385kg.
Navigating On-Site Challenges
The project site presented significant hurdles, including a swimming pool and a brick flower bed with a large tree, both requiring precise crane positioning. The Spider Plus team tracked the URW-295 on plywood sheets to the villa’s back garden and carefully set it up to avoid contact with the tree branches or other obstacles.
Thanks to the crane’s adaptable outriggers and working area limitation feature, the skilled operator expertly maneuvered the equipment, ensuring safe and stable operation within the confined space.
Flawless Handling of Oversized Glazing
Using the MRTA6 Glass Vacuum Lifter and the URW-295’s user-friendly controls, the team carefully retrieved and positioned the large glazing units into the window openings. The crane’s compact design and significant lifting power made it an ideal choice for lifting the heavy glass without issue.
