Spider Plus successfully completed a steel structure installation at the iconic Madinat Jumeirah resort in Dubai. This unique project, known as the Tent Build, involved erecting a steel frame with multiple cross beams on a small island within the resort complex. Each component measured 5 metres x 300 mm and weighed 500 kg, requiring both precision and a dependable lifting solution.
One of the main challenges was restricted access—the only entry point to the island was a walkway bridge with a 3-tonne weight limit. This ruled out the use of traditional cranes. The solution needed to be compact and lightweight while still capable of lifting substantial loads.
To overcome this challenge, Spider Plus deployed the URW-295 spider crane—a compact powerhouse known for its lifting capacity of up to 2.9 tonnes. Its lightweight design allowed it to safely cross the bridge, and once on-site, it handled the steel frame and cross beams with efficiency and precision.
With its small footprint, precise control, and ability to operate in tight spaces, the URW-295 proved to be the ideal solution for this project—demonstrating why it’s a go-to choice for urban and access-restricted construction.
